Jonathan is a strategically focused, certified compensation professional with more than 15 years of experience in academic health centers and teaching hospitals. He is expert in physician, faculty/academic, and executive compensation practices; in strategic planning; and in mergers and acquisitions.

His experience includes:

  • Managing complex physician and executive compensation programs
  • Managing multiple major equity increases for a major health system, including job leveling and pay practice alignment that significantly reduced staff turnover
  • Job consolidation and compensation alignment in the merger process
  • Streamlining a transition to electronic medical records

Prior to joining Veralon, Jonathan was Vice President for Compensation at Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health, where he led all aspects of the compensation program for 35,000 employees, including compensation strategy development, program integration following mergers, executive / board report preparation, and research. He also collaborated on the annual executive compensation review to meet IRS regulatory compliance requirements.

Before that, Jonathan was Compensation Manager at Main Line Health; he designed system-wide merit programs, created and automated an executive and management incentive statement process, and provided facilitation and communications support. Previously, he was a senior compensation specialist at Albert Einstein Health Network.

Jonathan holds a Master of Healthcare Policy and a Masters Certificate in Healthcare Quality and Safety from Thomas Jefferson University, and a Bachelor of Professional Studies in Business from Lynn University. He is a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and a Certified Crucial Conversations Instructor. Jonathan is past president of the Delaware Valley Healthcare Compensation Society.
